OUR PHILOSOPHY

WHY AYURVEDA?

Ayurveda means “the Science of Life” and encourages prevention and maintaining health through balancing diet, lifestyle, and the mind-body system according to one’s constitution — mental, emotional, and physical makeup. Originating in ancient India over 5,000 years ago, Ayurveda is a healing system.

Our integrative approach to health is rooted in Ayurveda to create a personalized map for healing. Ayurveda doesn’t focus on disease but rather on attuning your body’s natural balance and energy and all aspects of your life — the connection of mind, body, and spirit. When your energy is strong, and you’re living in harmony with nature’s rhythms, you’ll feel more connected, balanced, energetic, and aligned -- listening to your body and what you feel your body needs.

Imbalance from our true nature can lead to dis-ease, feeling out of sorts, and disruptions in the normal functioning of our bodies. At Calla Wild, we focus on rejuvenation, self-care, prevention of disease, and correcting imbalances to bring you back in tune with your natural energies. Knowing your dosha is the first step in knowing lifestyle practice to balance body, mind, + spirit.

THE DOSHAS: CREATING A BALANCED LIFESTYLE

In Ayurveda, everything in our natural world is made of the three doshas - vata, pitta, kapha. The doshas are pairings of the elemental energies (the 5 elements - air, space, fire, water, and earth). You have all three doshas in you; however, one or two are primarily present, making up your unique constitution.

Prakriti, or true healthy nature, is your constitution determined at birth. Over time, our bodies become imbalanced from emotions, thoughts, environment, the food we eat, stress level, the climate we live in, and lifestyle. This imbalanced state is known as Vikriti.

Discover your dosha below. Let’s start a path to feeling well!
